Graduate School: Pt 1
Hello to all old and new readers! I have created this blog as a spin-off of the blog I created during my senior year as an undergraduate. The other blog consists of my internship with Cabarrus Health Alliance as an intern doing mosquito research, the highlights/rollercoaster of my senior year, and a glimpse into my gap year - so check out Uncensored Musings if you haven't already!
I am going to be starting my master's program at Central Connecticut State University on August 28th and I am excited to be able to write about my adventures and self-discovery as I pursue my masters.
I have recently moved to a place where I am renting a room in off-campus housing in New Britain, CT. I have learned that moving is a lot different than moving into a dorm (which has been a combination of utter annoyances, mishaps, and excitement of fully being on my own and paying my own bills). I am also in the process of finding a new job. So far, I have had a couple of interviews, one that I didn't hear back from (it was an open hire) and an interview for an office assistant job on campus for the residence halls. I am seeing different opportunities and also would like to pursue more opportunities to grow as a freelancer.
Along with school & job pursuing, I am going to be a Sunday School for the upcoming school year for 4th/5th graders and working with the teenagers when I am able too... I have been able to grow closer to some of the teens at my church, which was something I would never envision being my strength... but then again I have only worked with younger kids in the past! I am also wanting to learn and improve upon my ASL skills to be able to teach youth to do worship songs in sign (even bought an ASL book today at my school's bookstore because you know, my current textbooks aren't interesting enough)... AND... I would like to continue doing personal research on nutrition & fitness - which my current goal is to choose/eat healthier foods instead of junk food on a budget. I have noticed so many good changes in my body since I have increased protein, choose to incorporate fresh fruits & vegetables, electrolytes (which nutrition is an individual based thing - electrolytes help me - the one thing I stole from a keto Instagram that I follow), organic meats, and less processed foods and sugar (which is a vice for me - not going to lie). I am also trying to work on eating more at home rather than going out to eat (stay tuned for more on the health & wellness blog I will be working on)
Also - I have some plans on creating another blog or two that will allow for me to post solely on special topics: mental health & health and wellness. Stay tuned for upcoming posts!
